The all-new Merlo ROTO range of rotating telescopic handlers is set to preview at BAUMA the world’s largest trade fair for construction machinery and technology.
The all-new ROTO range delivers increased performance, a host of new features and an innovative new design, radio remote controller, set to increase safety, efficiency and performance of this legend amongst rotating handlers the Merlo ROTO.
Previewed at BAUMA, the new range will be available in the UK in 2026.
A significant programme of development and innovation continues the core values of Merlo product design of performance, reliability, safety and quality. This new ROTO generation heralds the arrival of increased lifting capacity whilst offering the lightest ground bearing pressure and maintaining the market leading compact dimensions Merlo is renowned for.
ROTO 400 Models – (400-degree rotation).
ROTO 600 Models – (600-degree rotation)
ROTO – (Continuous Rotation)
To meet the demands of the rapidly growing rental market, Merlo is pleased to introduce the “R” rental models. Offering the same power, performance and reliability as the S Plus models these new R models offer simplified management and operation. Perfect for sites where multiple operators are present.
With a focus on the electronic functions of the new range, Merlo has made many improvements to enhance the operator experience. Improvements to the already impressive Boom Speed have allowed for an even smoother and more linear operation. Further enhancing the functionality is the introduction of a “Set Point” function allowing the automatic return of the boom to memorised position at maximum speed whilst maintaining a safe operation. This feature reduces operator fatigue and increases efficiency in repetitive work cycles.
Thanks to the introduction of a new Cartesian movement function that maintains automatically the vertical trajectory of the attachment when raising or lowering or a horizontal trajectory during extension or retraction of the boom.
Additionally, the introduction of load chart simulation function allows the operator to know before commencing the operation as to whether it is feasible or not, simply by simulating the variation of the known parameters (attachment used, load to be lifted, stabiliser position etc).
The ability to re-position the machine (max. speed 5 km/h) allows the re-positioning of the unit via the radio remote control thanks to the ability to control the machines movements and stabilisation phases from a safe distance or from the attached platform, thus optimising work time and increasing efficiency.
A new patented design of the Merlo radio remote control offers increased ergonomics for the operator, a greater range of machine information enabling total control of the machine. This means the operator has total control of the machine, allowing for anticipation of abnormal or dangerous situations, enhancing safe operation and performance.
If such a situation is encountered the LCD display screen background will change colour to alert the operator, in turn facilitating only safe movements to return the machine to a stable and safe situation, a unique feature exclusive to Merlo.
Please join us to see the new ROTO developments for yourself. The UK team will be on hand throughout the show and will be pleased to welcome you to the Merlo stand personally.
